Covides is a unification of small farmers and was founded in 1963. It has 650 active members who farm on about 2300ha of vineyards. The vinery processes 24.000.000kg grapes every year.
The wines are grown in the region Penedes and produce wines under the apellation DO Penedes and DO Cava
Covides also supplyes wines to the Spanish Royal Court.
The produced white wine varieties are Macabeo, Xarel-lo, Parellada a Chardonay.
The produced red wine varieties are Tempranillo, Merlot, Syrah, Cabernet Savignon, Monastrell.
Worthy of mention is the Rose CAVA produced solely from grapes of the red variety Trepat.
